Learn About Our Project:
missed the campaign? you can still pre-order! :)
another version of the Memento will include Pluto.
After the successful kickstarter campaign for the SpaceTime Coordinates poster & t-shirt, I’m launching my 3rd Kickstarter, a more intimate version of the STC project that you can always carry on you, in case you stumble upon a wormhole or tear in the fabric of space and time.
Use it as a pendant, keyring, push-pin badge or coin for magic tricks. Always have your coordinates at the ready and never get lost in the space–time continuum again!
Feel the solar system at your fingertips, stay focused and contemplate the universe and our human achievements, with this custom 3D printed memento that depicts the 4th dimension and the Solar System, using data from NASA and the date of your choice.
Commemorate an historical event or celebrate a personal date (birth, wedding, personal achievement, any memorable event)
Thanks to the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, we have access to incredibly accurate data that we can use to calculate the most precise positioning of each planet on its orbital path, given any particular date in time.
A 3D custom model is then generated and printed with the latest 3D printing technology thanks to Shapeways and i.materialise. It can be printed in a variety of material, including Plastic, Brass (with optional 14K, 18K Gold and Rhodium plating), Bronze, Aluminium, Steel, Silver, Titanium, Solid 14K or 18K Gold and even Platinum.
F = ma
Have an interstellar standoff on your hands? Break that tie with the flip of this collectible interstellar coin.
It’s not just for time-travelling aficionados and overall science nerds; the SpaceTime Coordinates Memento is great as a fashion statement; use it as a necklace, bracelet, badge, keyring, or a coin to do magic tricks with. You can even use the digital file to print stellar business cards, stickers or temporary tattoos!
A chain can go through the center hole which represents the Sun. One face displays the orbital paths from the common north-pole view; the other face shows the celestial objects from the south-pole view, with no orbits, for a more minimal style.
A human life in the bigger picture of the universe.
Have you ever wondered what our solar system looked like at the time of your birth? With this project you can get your own personal solar system set to a particular date (birthdate, wedding or any other date meaningful to you).
With this design project we can relate to the solar system itself and find our own place in the universe. We might all just be space dust in the big picture, but we should grasp our own individual humanity and celebrate our ephemeral time on earth.
Let’s get technical
The four dimensions (x, y, z, and t) are used to represent a particular location in time and space, known as the 4th dimension. The design is predefined to the north-pole heliocentric view which is most commonly used in Astronomy to represent the Solar System.
3rd rock from the sun
The orbital paths are illustrated by concentric etched lines and their sizes and distances are schematized. The Sun and our 8 planets are represented by small holes.

The Rewards & Materials
Backers will enjoy from 15% to 50% off the projected retail prices.
Each reward (starting at $15) will include the exclusive collectible card and its 2D digital file (that you can use for all your personal printing).
Custom fees might apply to certain materials that are only manufactured in the EU by i.materialise (Raw Steel, Polished Steel, Black Plated Polished Brass & Raw Titanium). Shapeways has manufacturers both in the USA & EU, so no custom fee will apply for US & EU backers, for most materials.
Disclaimer: The STC-M does not come with a chain. Any regular thin chain can be easily used with it as the center hole is about ø 1.5 mm. I recommend that you go to your local Jewellery store to find a chain that could go through the center hole. Some chains might require the hook to be removed before passing through the hole. A professional jeweller will be able to do this easily. They can also provide you the option to finely engrave the STC-M (if printed in metal).
- Collectible Card

This card is a Kickstarter exclusive reward!
Strong and smooth collectible card with rounded corners, made from 400gsm premium stock, and printed by Moo, the best printer ever!
The card will include your personal STC, its Julian and Gregorian dates and event title, such as:

Apollo 11 Moon landing
Strong & Flexible Plastic (9 colors available) or Metallic Plastic (raw or polished
Metallic Plastic is Nylon Plastic filled with Aluminum dust. This dust gives the Metallic Plastic its signature sparkle, but makes the memento more brittle than the Strong & Flexible Plastic material.
Made of a UV Cured Acrylic Polymer with a 16 micron layer height that produces incredibly fine features. Well suited for painting. (if you are a DIY master!)
For best results, I recommend to hand polish the memento, I used a Fiberglass pen and it works very well.
- Raw Metal & Steel
Available in Raw Aluminum, Brass, Bronze or High Detail Stainless Steel.
Raw Aluminum has a matte grey finish. There is a subtle sparkle caused by the silicon particles in this material. Certain surfaces can be slightly rougher, while the others are more smooth. Its subtle imperfections gives a certain Moon / Asteroid aspect to the mementos.
Raw Brass has a rustic matte look, with rough surfaces and some tarnishing (color spots). Can be DIY polished / finished.
Raw Bronze is a high-detail metal with a deep red color similar to rose gold with a matte rough surface. It has a subtle marbling effect, and the silvery highlights give each piece their own unique character.
Raw High Detail Stainless Steel is made with high-grade & high-strength steel (316L) that uses a post-treatment with a gentle blasting operation that gives it the highest level of detail.
- Black Plated, Polished Metal & Polished Steel
Black Plated Polished Brass is electroplated with a very thin layer of Palladium and Silver, then applied with a colored liquid PU coating. This PU coating provides extra protection to the plating against scratches and oxidation.
Polished Brass and Bronze go through extensive hand polishing to give it a smooth, shiny finish.
Polished High Detail Stainless Steel is printed in high-grade steel (316L) with high levels of detail and strength. Outer surfaces get a polished look, and inner areas will appear more dark and matte.
Both Polished Steel and Black Plated give a Meteorite look to the mementos.
- Titanium, Raw Silver, Polished Silver & Premium Silver
3D printed Titanium doesn’t look like the traditional shiny milled Titanium. Instead it’s a bit grayer and more matte with a slightly rougher and less defined yet precise surface. It is the strongest material you can currently 3D print.
Raw Sterling Silver is mechanically polished, so it may show print lines and have a rougher surface texture.
Polished Sterling Silver is lightly hand polished to achieve a smooth finish but still can have some surface texture.
Premium Sterling Silver is highly hand polished to a "wet" sheen and looks very shiny.
- Precious Plated Metal
Available in 14k Gold, 14k Rose Gold, 18k Gold or Rhodium Plated.
Cast in Brass before going through extensive hand polishing to create a smooth surface texture. It is underplated with Palladium to provide strength and durability. Then plated with 0.5 microns of the precious metal of your choice
Precious Plated Metal is a durable material, but can still scratch or wear through. Prolonged surface wear can rub off the finish. To prevent damage, store your item in a soft cloth pouch away from other products, and avoiding exposure to household chemicals and cleaning products.
- Solid Gold & Platinum
Available in Solid 14k Gold, 14k Rose Gold, 14k White Gold, 18k Gold or Platinum.
All Gold products go through extensive hand-polishing to give them a smooth, shiny finish.
14k Gold has a subtle, warm coloring, while 14k Rose Gold has a pinkish tint, 14k White Gold looks like silver with a hint of gold. 18k Gold is brighter and more vibrant than the 14k Gold.
Platinum has a bright silver-white color. It goes through extensive hand-polishing to give it a smooth, shiny finish.
Gold and Platinum can be maintained with most non-abrasive cleaners. Avoid exposing to household bleach, which can cause corrosion and discoloration.
